watched the water brothers (more food, less water). afterwards, susan and i talked about our parents and water-use growing up. they lived beside one of the largest lakes in the world and had no thought about water-use, whereas my father grew up in germany in the 30s and 40s; water was precious and he was very conscious of it. how precious is water was experienced by flint and less seriously saskatoon recently and by some Natives under boil advisories.
it’s spring and soon the warblers will be back, filling the air with music of birdsong!

s to toronto. chloe brought supper. reading about the differences between additive colour theory (eg, mixing colours in paints, above–RBG, where R=red, B=blue, G=Green) and subtractive colour theory (eg, mixing light in computer monitors, below–YMC, where Y=yellow, C=cyan, M=magenta),tho in high school i learned this version of additive colour theory, which is now over two hundred years old:
i mostly use a monitor now; must i re-learn colour theory? whether ‘inks or paints, oils or watercolors, transparencies or reflecting prints, computer displays or movie theaters, [the medium] was not considered especially relevant.’ uh-oh. maybe i’ve opened a can of worms.
