OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAin my youth, i studied some of the great books in art and science at university. later, i applied this to weaving, which is both art and science. for example, about twenty-five years ago i wove an undulating twill, like the one pictured on the left but with more colours, colours of the marsh in autumn. the aim was artistic, undulating twill designbut the design (a sample is pictured on the right) was geometric, scientific. professionally, i worked in the sciences as a computer programmer, but privately i explored the arts. for example, i have a sketch book with drawings of the kids. that sketch book must be twenty years old now. being retired, i’m free to combine my scientific bent with my artistic passion and create web-based art.
