Waiting For ….

<note to self>

5th Dimension 1969we are enraptured by biblical events of two thousand years ago. we are also enraptured by palaeontological events of 67 million years ago. i’m of two minds–human-centric versus bio-centric–and two times–now and eternity. is everything binary, ultimately? can’t all options in an argument be reduced to two? i’ve heard that reality is really two-dimensional, binary; that the third (homo sapiens), the fourth (einstein), or the fifth dimension (motown) are illusions. sometimes we struggle (and struggle and struggle) to put jesus and dinosaurs together. we’re all waiting for something. are wewaiting for god‘ (simone weil) or ‘waiting for godot‘ (samuel beckett)? albert-einsteinis what we’re waiting for all random, and if not, did events of two thousand years ago or 67 million years ago matter? or is it both, a paradox? thomas merton writes, ‘it is in the paradox itself, the paradox which was and still is a source of insecurity, that i have come to find the greatest security.’ even if it’s a paradox, especially if it’s a paradox, i guess i have to decide, take a leap of faith. if i’m even conscious.
