from tcktcktck–‘From 20-22 June 2012, World Leaders will meet at the United Nations Rio+20 Conference on Sustainable Development, otherwise known as the Earth Summit, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Twenty years ago the original Earth Summit in Rio set out key principles for governments to work together on measures ensuring sustainable development, including economic, social and environmental aims.

Now, with a growing population and diminishing resources we urgently need to make sure governments at Rio+20 agree to bold actions to assure a sustainable future for everyone.

The Rio Earth Summit in June, 2012 will address seven critical issues facing humanity today – Jobs, Energy, Cities, Food, Water, Oceans, and Natural Disasters.’
