took a bus to and from cambridge, driven by comic, retired trans-continental trucking, country-singing jc, to tour ‘bridges’, a homeless shelter. sharps by the river are sobering. laughter is healing. flag at half mast at the husky s of barrie–is it for national day of mourning for workers killed on the job? after i got home (after falling off the bus), triked while sue walked oscar (still friggin cold!), and watched snam‘s Music of the Heart (based on a true story–1999) about ‘Roberta Guaspari, a tough-as-nails music teacher in Harlem, [who] recognizes the positive influence music has on her students. But when a lack of funding threatens to end the program, Guaspari goes to great lengths to protect the program and her students’ musical hopes. Directed by Wes Craven [?!] and starring Meryl Streep’ (oscar-nommed).
